Hey, Everybody! PBS is doing a special on non-native pythons in the Everglades and the impact they’re having. You may want to check your local public television’s web site for showings in your area; here’s the info:

“Invasion of the Giant Python”

Florida’s Everglades National Park is one of the last great wildlife refuges in the U.S. It’s also the dumping ground for many nonnative animals. Add to the mix tens of thousands of giant pythons that can grow to 20 feet and 300 lbs. They predatory snakes thrive in this protected wilderness, which has become less a haven than a killing ground.
